Public health messaging fails in a predictable way: it is accurate, it is correct, and nobody watches it to the end. She hit some of the biggest poetry stages in the country and used them to tell stories on health, which is a distribution channel most health campaigns never get near.

On the ground
Eleven camps, four symposiums
Across four years at Muhimbili she organised and took part in eleven medical camps and four medical symposiums, in Tanzania mainland and in Zanzibar. This ran in parallel with the degree, the book and the competition circuit, not instead of them.
She describes herself as a public health enthusiast and a leader, and the camps are where those two words stop being abstractions. They are also the reason the health writing sounds like someone who has been in the room.
